Work Resumes on eWSF

Further development of the USDA-NRCS next generation water supply forecasting system began this month supported by a two-year Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) between NRCS and Colorado State University (CSU).  The Collaboration tab of this web site contains more detail on this new system, featuring an eRAMS-powered web application called eWSF.  Immediate tasks include automating more data provisioning processes, enhancing model calibration, and integrating eWSF with external desktop tools providing hydrologic response units and parameter estimation.  The work leads to an eWSF release before the end of the calendar year in advance of the 2015 forecast season.  The agreement supports subsequent releases for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
